Any chance of getting a general discussion area while the official site is down? :)

lol, I thought about that but it'll have to be down a little longer... Chad told me Mark is working with Warners to resolve.

Ahhh cool! Any idea what the problem is??

No idea... Hopefully Warners didn't shut the site down since Ash are no longer with them.  I'd guess that Warners won't renew Ash's URL once the renewal period comes.  When you sign up for a domain name, it's usually on a yearly basis.  However, I'm sure Warners would send Ash the files that made the website, so if Ash wanted to pay for it out of their own pocket it would be back up.

That's really just all speculation though.  No idea at all what's really going on!

Yeah I would certainly hope Warners wouldn't be twatty enough to shut the site down just like that!

I like stu's thinking.A general discussion area would be nice.
It would help promote "the Ash files" Brian ;)

I don't want to create a General Discussion section because it defeats the point of the site which is to share and discuss Ash bootlegs.  I realize it sucks Ash Official is down, but it will go back up sometime in the near future I'm sure.  I miss it too...

I think Ash (Mark?) should post on their MySpace or something about what's going on and when it's expected to be back up.  If it is something long-term or the site is lost for good, then I'd create a discussion forum here and modify the rules...  but I don't see that happening since Ash rely on that board so much for communication with news and feedback.

Hey B (and everyone else)!    :)

Not suprising.  I hope everything isn't lost, like in the case of Audiojunkies.

I saw your post where you were wondering about the plans to release TOTI in the States but didn't get a chance to respond before the board went down.  Just wanted to let ya know that I asked Tim about it after the Williamsburg gig, and he said that's still the plan.  Didn't get to talk about at length, but I got the impression that they were actively shopping for a label/distribution.  Here's hoping!

Awesome!  I wouldn't think everything is lost... it's probably a matter of Warners supporting Ash since they aren't on Warners anymore.  Who knows?

Jedisteve updated ashtabs.tripod.com yesterday with some news.  I sent him a quick email to thank him for the updates &  he said marks been trying to get the site back online, but its kinda out of their hands.

To save you the effort, here's his post:

29th April 2008 - Mark On New Material
Following the confirmation of ASH's first festival appearances this summer, Mark told ashtabs about the band’s recording and the change from their initial plans to be releasing digitally next month.

ASH had planned their first digital release to be available in May, but this has been put back as they plan to record "at least 40 songs this year". At the moment they’re working on 13 different songs with quite a variety of styles. Some have backing tracks down while a few are currently "experiments". There are also potential mosh pit favs in the brew...

Two songs are finished and just need mixing, one of these songs was written toward the end of the recording of TOTI, but wasn’t ready in time for that album. This is the song Tim mentioned in an interview during last year’s Reading festival...

http://www.ash-official.com is currently down due to server trouble and it should be back soon – hopefully a reboot should fix it today.

Has anyone heard about the tour dates they've announced? They're playing Bradford and Loughborough, but there's about a 3 week gap in between so hopefully more to be announced? I can't really make it to Loughborough :(
