Here is a list of supported file types for uploading bootlegs at The Ash Files and my comments/recommendations for each one:

- zip - highly encouraged.  You can zip up flac files or any other formats you'd like.  What is .zip? Click here.
- rar - for those of you who want an alternative to .zip.  What is .rar? Click here.
- mp3 - most common format for audio.  It's best to compress them to a .zip or .rar and post 1 single file.
- mp4 - another common format for audio and video.  It's best to compress them to a .zip or .rar and post 1 single file.
- flac - notice that these are indeed encouraged!  It is encouraged to .zip the files and just upload that .zip.  What is .flac?  Click here.
- wma - if that's all you can get...
- wmv - great for videos.  It's slightly smaller in size than .avi and can be played on pretty much any computer.
- avi - better for videos, a little larger than .wmv, may need a codec to play depending on how it is encoded
- mpg & mpeg - larger file size, usually better quality
- flv - These are flash video files if you guys want to upload things directly from some flash only website such as YouTube, or some sites that post videos in shockwave format to drastically reduce filesize and prevent leeching -- needs a codec to play in most players though
- jpg, jpeg, gif, png, bmp, txt - for you guys to upload supplements to the bootlegs such as artwork or a text file with the set/description/credits/etc...
