Hello Fireska

Wow! Its like old times on the Gashed board.

I really like Cocoon, bit uncertain about the wibbly guitar sound but i think its a catchy little ditty with a great melody. Cant wait to see it played live.

See you on Facebook Bri

Hi everyone! Great idea Brian. Haven't actively posted on a forum of any kind in aaaaages!

I'm enjoying Coccoon, catchy little number. Can't wait to hear more songs! Really loving how excited Rick is by the new material - on fb, onstage at the Barfly... the man is full of energyl

Yeah!  How were the other new songs?  I haven't seen any live recordings of any kind yet from this year.  Hopefully the days of people recording proper bootlegs isn't over due to smartphones and grainy YouTube videos.

I'm far too used to facebook now - I wanted to hit 'like' for this!

In days gone by I would have recorded as much as I could on a camera at a special gig like this but figure that others will capture it these days. I'm lazy now!

At the Barfly gig, apart from Cocoon I think I liked Fortune the most of the new songs. I remember it having a strong bassline and a section where Tim drops out, leaving just drum and bass going. Quite power-chordy.

Evil(sp?) Kinevel is a short (maybe 90 seconds?) instrumental, and has a sort of triplet-y, trotting rhythm to it.

I can't remeber much about Shut Down other than it being fairly energetic. This was the only one that Tim introduced, and I think I spent a lot of the song trying to work out why the title sounded familiar! Was it in the working titles list for Meltdown? I think I was maybe mixing it up with Cool It Down.

It may have been in the working titles for TOTI that they posted up on a blog. I remember there was one called "No Face" that I always wanted to hear what it was like.  Not sure where that old list resides these days.  Walking-Barefoot.com has taken down all of the stuff that made that site great; all of the resources.  So no clue.

Hi all

So nice to have an Ash forum again, thanks Brian.

I'm really liking Cocoon, I feel it has that 1977 sound to it, as well I listened to the acoustic of Shut Down, which is another catchy song.

So excited for the album and tour now.

Good thinking on setting up a new section in the Forum Brian. How has everyone been?

I hadn't been to the main one for about a year. I went to log in about two weeks ago and was sad to see it was gone.

Not sure about Cocoon but I like the general direction the sound is taking

Anyway I'm one of the unlucky ones who missed out on tickets for Dublin. Really pissed about it.

Hi everyone!  Kind of weird but nice to be back on a forum!

Was so gutted that I couldn't make the London gig the other day as I am weight loss coaching part time and have a regular client on a Weds night.  And I'm also planning to move to Worcester and do my business full time over the next few months so couldn't book any tickets cos I don't know when exactly we'll move, and just have to watch the pennies for a few months.

Fingers crossed I can get to something in the summer, it's been way too long!

Anyway, if Ash ever do any gigs in Worcester after I've moved, I'll have lots of rooms for people to stay at

Just the other day I was wondering if the Ash Forum was still kicking. Sad to hear that it's gone, but I guess Facebook etc kind of filled that need for a lot of us for a while now.

Anyway, good to be here. I thought I had registered but my email address was invalid, so I've reregistered.

Thought I'd say hi and introduce myself, I'm James and I'm from New Zealand (that's many people's current favourite for the cricket world cup if you're not sure where it is ) ... signed up for the official forum a few weeks before it shut down! haha. Always been into Ash, but recently have become slightly more obsessed by them and started picking up their singles, promos, Japan versions of albums etc to try and get as many of their tracks as I can!

Haven't seen them live yet, was hoping they'd announce some Japan dates soon so I could go over and visit my sister who currently lives there at the same time, but she comes back in August, so it's not looking promising. I'm sure I'll catch them at some stage on their Kablammo tour though, will head over to Australia if they tour there.

PS: Does anyone have the End of the World live EP or the Hugo remix of You Can't Have It All? Bought all the digital tracks I can, but I don't think you can buy those anymore.
